Obituary
Calvin Hopkins Of Jackson, Michigan formerly of Chicago, Illinois passed away at the age of 69 at his home on Saturday, August 27, 2022. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 52 years, Lydia Hawes-Hopkins and their son, Darnell (Carletta Ann) Hopkins; two grandchildren, Marissa A. Hopkins and Isabella B. Hopkins; sister, Jaquelin Dean as well as many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Calvin was preceded in death by his eight siblings, Alleana Phillips, Mattie Roy, Evelyn Clark, Verta Phillips, Roosevelt Hopkins, Betty Warner, Sue Hampton and Milton Hopkins. Calvin graduated from Kenwood High School in Chicago in 1971 and worked in an entry level of retail where he continued his career and was promoted through the ranks and retired in management. Calvin married Lydia Hawes on March 18, 1971, in Chicago Illinois and they raised a family. After his retirement Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins moved to Jackson to be with their family. He had a strong Faith in the Lord and was a member of Kingdom Life Ministries (1825 Spring Arbor Road Jackson, 49201).
